Disillusionment clouds vision and taints
The heart with distrust;
Offering stale bread and bitter wine.
An unappetizing meal, unfit for most,
Stealing away hope for desert, before
The coffee is served.
Once proven false, hope is deferred,
Making regurgitation probable,
Followed by an unsettled heartache—
Suggesting the need for a blander diet.
